I DO DRYWALL · SMALL REPAIRS WELCOME
Ceiling drywall repair, with the finish in mind.
A ceiling hole, damaged section or failed seam can leave the whole room feeling unfinished. I Do Drywall handles ceiling drywall repairs, replacement, taping and finishing—from a small patch to a larger repair. Talk with Mike about the damage and the result you want.
I Do Drywall is the drywall brand of MS Painting and Drywall Inc. Mike handles estimates and the work.
Serving these Florida communities and the surrounding area: Daytona Beach, Ormond Beach, Port Orange, New Smyrna Beach, DeLand, Deltona, Orange City.
THE REPAIR SCOPE
From the damaged area to the agreed finish.
- Localized ceiling holes and openings ready to be closed
- Replacement of damaged drywall sections where a surface patch is not enough
- Taping and joint finishing, with the surrounding ceiling in mind
- Smooth-finish preparation or blending with the existing texture
BEFORE WORK BEGINS
Does the whole ceiling need replacing?
Not automatically. A localized opening may need a repair rather than a whole new ceiling. The condition of the surrounding board, the cause of the damage and the intended finish help determine the scope. Mike can discuss those details without assuming the largest repair is the right one.

An isolated hole in otherwise sound drywall
Explain where the opening is and whether anything above it still needs access. The repair plan should account for the opening, support for the new board and the surrounding area needed for finishing—not just the hole itself.
A seam or crack that has returned
Tell Mike what was repaired before and whether the line has changed. Repeated cracking can involve more than the visible finish. A surface repair should follow attention to any underlying movement or other cause, not hide an unresolved problem.
A ceiling affected by a leak
Have the leak source corrected and necessary drying and remediation completed before drywall is closed or finished. Keep clear of a wet, bulging or unstable ceiling and get appropriate help for the hazard first. Drywall repair is not leak repair, structural assessment or emergency response.
Plan for the space below the repair
- Describe the room, approximate ceiling height and whether the work is above stairs, cabinets or a hard-to-reach area. You do not need to climb up to inspect it for the call.
- Mention lights, fans, vents or other fixtures near the damage. Agree who will handle any necessary fixture or trade work; do not assume it is part of drywall finishing.
- Discuss furniture, room access, surface protection and cleanup with Mike before work starts, especially in an occupied home.
- Explain the existing texture and which parts of the ceiling will be repainted. An old paint color or sheen can affect the appearance of a newly finished area.
Agree on the finished ceiling—not only the patch
Ceilings can reveal a repair differently as daylight and room lighting change. Tell Mike whether you want to keep the existing texture or discuss a different finish. The estimate should distinguish board repair, joint finishing, texture and any agreed priming or painting. Matching the texture alone does not make old and new paint identical.
Keeping an existing pattern? See our texture matching service, or discuss the surface directly with Mike.
Start with a practical repair estimate
For a ceiling estimate, the size and condition of the affected area are only part of the picture. Working height, access, fixtures, the finish and any preparation still outstanding all matter. Start with your town, the room and what caused the damage. Mike will discuss what needs to be assessed before pricing and scheduling are agreed.

Questions before you book
Will you take a small ceiling patch?
Yes. Small repairs are welcome. Tell Mike whether it is a single opening, a damaged seam or several areas so he can discuss the appropriate scope.
Can you work with an existing textured ceiling?
Texture blending is part of our drywall service. Describe the pattern and any previous repairs. Mike can assess the surface and discuss a practical finish; a perfect invisible match in every light is not something to assume.
What if the existing ceiling material is uncertain?
Do not scrape, sand or sample material you suspect may contain asbestos. Appearance alone cannot identify it. Arrange assessment by an appropriately trained asbestos professional before disturbing suspect material. I Do Drywall does not offer asbestos testing or abatement.
How soon can the room be painted?
The repair, compound, texture and site conditions determine the preparation and drying sequence. Ask Mike how the work fits your painting plans rather than assuming an immediate paint-ready handoff or a fixed number of visits.
