PROJECT PLANNING & NEXT STEPS
What details help Mike prepare an accurate installation estimate?
Share your project location, approximate room dimensions or square footage, ceiling height, and whether framing, electrical, and plumbing rough-ins are complete. If you have photos or plans, ask Mike how to share them during your call.
Full-service hanging, taping, and finishing
Proper drywall installation requires accurate board placement and disciplined joint treatment. The work includes fitting and fastening panels, treating joints and corners, and preparing the surface for the agreed finish.
Once boards are secured, we bed joint tape in compound and apply multiple finishing coats, feathering joints out cleanly across flat seams, inside corners, and exterior corner bead. Surfaces are sanded smooth under work lighting, ready for paint primer or texture application.
- Staggered panel layouts minimizing butt joints on walls and ceilings
- Durable corner bead installation for crisp, straight outside corners
- Progressive compound coats feathered and sanded smooth for paint readiness
Remodels, additions, and ceiling replacements
Drywall installation during renovations requires careful integration with existing architecture. Whether you are adding a room, finishing a garage, or reconfiguring an interior layout, we tie new wallboard smoothly into existing plaster or drywall.
We also handle full ceiling panel replacements where water intrusion, age, or shifting framing has caused sagging or damaged surfaces. Mike coordinates with homeowners and general contractors around access, rough-trade completion and any required inspections.
- Drywall tie-ins between new sheetrock and existing room surfaces
- Ceiling drywall replacement suited to the framing and project requirements
- Accommodating both smaller single-room projects and multi-room remodels
One room, an occupied remodel or phased work
Explain which rooms are ready and which are waiting on other trades. A one-room installation and a multi-room project can both be discussed with Mike. Include smaller patches that need to be finished alongside the new board.
If the property stays occupied, identify the areas that need to remain usable. Discuss work access, protection and cleanup responsibilities, then agree the smooth or textured finish and the painting handoff. Do not assume every room is at the same stage.
Project boundaries and finishing expectations
Clear scope boundaries ensure your project proceeds without confusion. Provided by MS Painting and Drywall Inc., I Do Drywall delivers complete drywall installation, hanging, joint compound finishing, and texture matching. Discuss the finish you want with Mike, including smooth surfaces, texture, priming and painting, so the estimate covers the right stages.
For remodels, tell Mike which surfaces are staying and which are being replaced. If leaks or other underlying damage are involved, that work needs to be addressed before the new drywall is closed in.
Questions about drywall installation
Can Mike handle just the taping and finishing if I already hung the drywall?
Yes. While we regularly provide complete hanging and finishing packages, Mike also steps in to tape, mud, and finish projects where boards have already been hung by homeowners or framing crews. Mike can review the board condition, fastening and joints before agreeing the finishing scope.
What needs to be finished on-site before drywall installation starts?
Framing and work inside the wall or ceiling cavities should be ready before they are covered. Confirm any required rough-in inspections with your contractor or local building department, and discuss access and preparation with Mike.
Do you handle ceiling drywall installation and replacements?
Yes. We install ceiling drywall for home additions, garage conversions, and replacement projects where old ceilings are sagging or damaged. Mike can discuss board selection, access, the existing framing and the finish the room needs.
Does the drywall installation estimate include final painting?
Priming and painting are not automatically included in every drywall estimate. Tell Mike the finished result you want and agree which preparation, texture, primer and paint stages are included.
